By limiting the movement of the spine the brace can help prevent further injury and can help reduce pain.

 Its provides spinal stability to the thoracic, lumbar, and sacral spine to prevent unwanted extension, flexion, and rotation. The brace provides support to the trunk and upper thoracic regions and pressure to the abdomen to reduce load on intravertebral disks.
